| Sirius announces video over satellite endeavors |

 Sirius plans to add two to three channels of video programming to its current 120 channels of audio in the second half of 2006and Sirius has selected Windows Media 9 as its codec. The programming will most likely be targeted at children; the goal is to fill the "strong demand for rear seat video entertainment."
Should be interesting to see where this goes. They believe they can free up enough bandwidth for 2 or 3 channels of streaming video without affecting audio performance for users. |
