Netflix fights back... sortof
Posted by: AceBHound on Dec 6th, 2004 4:40 PM
Netflix, while once the single largest provider of online movie rentals, has quite a bit of competition coming its way these days. A few months ago Netflix lowered their subscription fee after rumors of Amazon launching an online video rental service. Blockbuster lowered their subscription fee as well, undercutting Netflix & also offered 2 free in-store rental coupons per month and a free DVD to new subscribers. Netflix is responding to these new threats by adding a feature for subscribers to share movie choices. Woohoo.

What one of these online rental places needs to figure out is that gamers want to be able to rent games and videos on the same subscription -- whoever does that first will see loads of subscribers.
