Z80 Based Computer Built From Scratch

The picture to your right is a 5-layer graphics card that's just one of the many components Phil Ruston is building from scratch for a Z80-based computer. I found this project while looking for things to do with an SX-28 microcontroller (which is also used in the XGameStation Pico). The project is utilizing an SX-28 in both the video card and sound card. Phil has created his own custom file system for managing files, interfaced a Compact Flash to IDE adapter for file storage and has a pretty impressive sprite demo showing what the system is capable of (well, for a z80 anyway!).

Latest developments on the project can be found on his blog.
