Softflex Computer Gloves

While at the supermarket this weekend I saw some gloves claiming to relieve wrist pain for computer users. The product packaging had a picture of hands stretched out on a keyboard, wearing a fingerless glove. Several thoughts crossed my mind -- the first being "I wonder if this thing works." I usually ask myself that about any product that really doesn't belong in a grocery store. Turns out after doing some searching on Google, the gloves do work & help many people find relief without surgery.

Now mind you, I don't have Carpal Tunnel.. but the product packaging said something to the effect of "For prevention and relief". Does that mean we should be pro-active and purchase a product like this to prevent wrist pain in the first place? Or is it only worth worrying about when you have excessive pain when typing? I'm not sure what to think.. but the pictures of Carpal Tunnel Surgery don't look especially fun. For now I shall remain gloveless.. and hope I won't have wrist pain any time soon.
