|As I learn more about electronics it's interesting to come across other people's projects where they take things back to basics in an effort to further their knowledge on how computers or electronics work. An example of this are people building computers completely out of 74 series logic chips like the Magic-1 computer. The Magic-1 uses 200+ logic chips, runs the Minix 2 OS and is even connected to the net and serving up web pages. Okay, so it's not going to impress 99.9% of society that uses technology without any consideration of how it evolved.. but very cool that some people are keeping it simple and using the old to learn about the new.
